Description from the seller

Silver reliquary door, saint figure, reliquary holder – 19th century - Germany

Massive silver reliquary, crafted in the form of a standing saint holding a Gothic-style architectural reliquary.

The figure, with a youthful and stylized head, is dressed in a long tunic with pronounced folds, rendered in high relief. It supports in front of it a rectangular reliquary with a scaled roof, decorated with ogival arches and a central medallion featuring a quadrilobed floral motif. This type of representation refers to the iconography of relic-bearing saints or sanctuaries.

The piece rests on a polygonal base, richly carved with vegetal motifs, supported by four lion-head-shaped feet, symbols of vigilance and sacrality. The hunting is designed as a reliquary receptacle.

Silver, bearing an oval maker’s mark punch with the initials J K

Overall presentation condition, with signs of old wear, micro-chocks, and friction zones consistent with usage and age.
Uniform patina, not cleaned to white.

Photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement their presentation. They allow you to assess their condition and characteristics. Please examine them carefully before any commitment.

The item will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
