Description from the seller
Set of two authentic Dutch armchairs from the interwar period (circa 1915–1930), originating from Friesland. The chairs are made of solid oak and are characterized by a sober, functional design with subtle influences from the Arts & Crafts movement and early Art Deco.
The construction is artisanal: mortise and tenon joints, lightly curved armrests, and tapered legs. This indicates local craftsmanship rather than mass-produced factory manufacturing.
The chairs are fitted with geometrically woven upholstery, probably original or from a very early period (1920s–1930s), attached with traditional furniture nails. The pattern and the upholstery method are characteristic of the period.
