Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
1920s Zenith London Art Deco hall pendant lamp with a green opaline glass shade and brass gallery, diameter 25.5 cm, height 21 cm, total drop about 50 cm, signed Zenith on the brass and including a mirrored bulb, in excellent condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Atmospheric Zenith Art Deco hall pendant lamp with a striking green opaline glass shade and a period brass gallery lamp holder.
The combination of the deep emerald-toned glass and warm, aged brass creates a strong interior presence with refined period character. When illuminated, the opaline shade diffuses the light beautifully, while the mirrored crown bulb adds a subtle glow upward, giving the lamp an architectural, almost theatrical light profile—typical of early 20th-century decorative lighting.
This type of pendant was popular in European townhouses and representative interiors during the 1910s–1930s, when Art Deco and late Art Nouveau influences overlapped in functional decorative lighting. The adjustable brass gallery, with visible clamping screws, is characteristic for high-end quality fixtures of the period, allowing the glass shade to be securely mounted while maintaining a clean silhouette.
Signed Zenith on the brass: The company Zenith and Co was founded in 1916; Villiers Road, Willesden Green, London.
