Description from the seller

This service set and box have been passed down in the family and used during 'The Anointing of the Sick, or the Last Sacrament.' It is a religious ritual administered to people who are seriously ill or in the final stages of life. The sacrament involves anointing the forehead and hands with blessed oil by a priest, accompanied by prayers for forgiveness and comfort, with this service set placed by the bed. The last sacrament of the dying, or anointing of the sick, plays a crucial role in Catholic tradition. It provides not only spiritual support but also an opportunity for the sick to peacefully bid farewell to life. This sacrament is an important part of the rituals surrounding death and the transition to the afterlife.

A beautiful antique crucifix with two matching candelabras. The crucifix features a detailed image of Christ. The candelabras are decorated with images. A unique and valuable religious object.
The box and set (crucifix and two candle holders) are clearly used. The wood is damaged here and there, and there is a crack in one arm of the crucifix. It still remains securely in place.
