Antique tin lid pot on a foot from Germany, dating to circa 1800–1850, in grey tin, with a height of 12.3 cm and a diameter of 9.4 cm.
Description from the seller
Lovely antique tin-lidded pot on a foot, executed in a classical form with two attached mask- or head-shaped projections. The object has a loose lid with a central knob and a recess for a spoon, indicating use as a mustard pot, herb pot, or small storage jar.
The base bears an old collection inscription in German:
"Wiesbaden 27 June 1936 Gens" (likely an old collector's note, not a maker's mark).
The tin has a beautiful, calm old patina.
There are visible signs of aging, including an old repair or damage to the handle, consistent with the age of the object.
Dimensions
– Height: approx. 12.3 cm
– Diameter: approx. 6.3 cm
Dating
Probably the first half of the 19th century (ca. 1800–1850).
A characterful and authentic object for lovers of antique tin, folk art and early consumer goods.
