Description from the seller
Panama. 5 Balboas. 1972.
Value: 5 Balboas.
Year: 1972.
Inscriptions: Republic of Panama · 5 Balboas · Peasant Settlement · Pro Mundi Beneficio.
- Rating: Without circular.
Commemorative coin issued in silver to celebrate the Panamanian land reform program, known as 'Asentamiento Campesino.' On the obverse, the national coat of arms of Panama is depicted, crowned by the eagle with outstretched wings, accompanied by the Latin motto Pro Mundi Beneficio, surrounded by stars and the denomination of five balboas. The reverse features a powerful social allegory: a firm hand holding wheat stalks, symbolizing agricultural work, rural reform, and the dignity of peasants, with the legend ASENTAMIENTO CAMPESINO and the date 1972 at the bottom. A large-sized piece with meticulous craftsmanship, highly valued both for its historical content and its strong symbolic charge within 20th-century Latin American numismatics.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and is completely out of our control. Thank you for your understanding.
