Description from the seller
Antique perfume bottle 'Chatelaine'
In silver plated
With a glass ampoule inside it.
Included measurements of the chain: 16 x 5 x 3.5 cm.
Weight: 60 g
Second half of the 19th century
Italy
This ancient perfume bottle at Chatelaine (the term derives from Lady of the Castle).
It presents a workmanship that is very rich and well-made, still functioning perfectly.
Since there are no punches, even though an engraving XIIII can be read inside the cap and outside the opening.
A test has been performed to detect the presence of silver; if the surface reacts and turns red as in the photo, it indicates silver; otherwise, it remains transparent yellow.
Inside it, a glass ampoule to contain the perfume.
The upper part perhaps indicates the absence of a ring (a photo is attached), which was presumably used to pass a pin that would hold the ampoule to the clothing.
Apart from this small anomaly, considering its age, the chatelaine is in excellent condition.
Shipment tracked via courier.
