Description from the seller

Tea service designed by Guido Andloviz, presented at the 1925 Monza International Art Biennale.

Guido Andloviz, in his role as art director of the Società Ceramica Italiana di Laveno, developed, like Gio Ponti with Richard Ginori, a fruitful collaboration between designer and the ceramic industry, approaching at that time the iconographic and stylistic models of the Wiener Werkstätten. The decorative elements of this tea service are characterized, in line with one of the main expressive trends of the Art Deco style, by a neo-18th-century taste, marked by stylized decorative motifs.

This form of tea service is one of the most iconic by Guido Andloviz, featured in several monographs on the designer. The service has been discussed since its first appearance at the Biennale di Monza, as documented by the October 1925 issue of the magazine 'Emporium,' p. 226.

A complete service is offered in an auction for 6 people, composed of:

6 cups of tea
6 tea dishes
6 sweet dishes

Each piece of the service is hand-decorated with an extremely refined decoration that highlights the innovative lines of the Monza service, in a futurist style.

The service is in excellent condition, with no obvious defects.

Extremely rare service
