Carl Zeiss Jena Theatis 3×15 binoculars in very good physical condition, tested and working, made in Germany, 1 item, from circa 1980–1990, dimensions 10×6×3 cm, with a gold-colour metal housing and leather covering.
Description from the seller
Carl Zeiss Jena Theatis 3×15 in excellent condition.
Minimal signs of use. This is a special and collectible model from the Carl Zeiss Jena Theatis series, specially developed as a luxury opera and theater viewer. There is one small mold spot on the glass (see last photo, circled in red). It is not visible during viewing and does not affect the image.
These viewers were produced in limited quantities and are clearly less common than standard Zeiss binoculars. The gold-colored metal version with leather inlay was intended as a high-end accessory and was often sold through opticians or specialty stores, not as a mass-produced item.
The Theatis 3×15 is known for its excellent optical quality for this format, with a bright, calm image and high contrast, typical of Zeiss Jena. It is precisely the combination of compact size, luxurious finish, and Carl Zeiss Jena origin that makes this model sought after today among collectors of vintage optics and design objects.
Features
Magnification: 3x
Objective diameter: 15mm
Original Carl Zeiss Jena production
Luxurious gold-colored metal casing
Leather upholstery
Compact, foldable design
A rare and stylish Zeiss binocular that is both highly functional and particularly attractive as a collectible.
