Zenit 3M + Helios-44 2/58mm (M39) – USSR ca. 1965 | Single lens reflex camera (SLR)

Classic Soviet 35mm SLR camera Zenit-3M, complete with the original Helios-44 58mm f/2 standard lens in M39 screw mount. In the 1960s, this was one of the first Zenit models with a returning mirror and interchangeable lenses.

The Helios-44 is a well-known copy of the Carl Zeiss Biotar 58/2, loved for its characteristic 'swirly bokeh' and beautiful contrast. Thanks to the M39 Zenit mount, the combination is interesting for both collectors and digital photographers with an adapter.

Cosmetically used but in good condition, with some scratches and signs of use on the chrome parts and upholstery (see photos).

Zoeker and mirror show some dust, which is normal for the age.

Roller blinds look neat; not tested on film, accuracy not guaranteed.

Transport, eject button, and rewind button operate mechanically.

Lens

Housing with clear paint wear and minor signs of use.

The glass shows some dust and light cleaning marks, with a minimal haze, but no deep scratches are visible in the photos.

Diaphragm lamellae move, focus runs over the entire range; smoothness can vary with age.
