Description from the seller
This is an Ericsson Model 1931 (also known by catalog numbers such as DBH 1001), an iconic vintage bakelite telephone. L.M. Ericsson introduced this model in 1931 as one of the first bakelite phones with an integrated rotary dial and handset.
Main features
Material: Made from black bakelite, an early form of plastic that was popular during that period.
Design: The device has a distinctive, robust, and streamlined shape.
Dial: Equipped with a mechanical dial for selecting phone numbers.
Use: This specific model was often used by various telephone companies, including the PTT in the Netherlands, sometimes in specific versions.
This was the breakthrough of the modern telephone made by Ericsson Holland on behalf of the PTT.
It is almost in pristine condition; there is no corrosion or pitting visible on the metal. It has been owned by a deceased collector for the past 29 years and was displayed in his showcase cabinet.
I would love it if he found someone again who can appreciate this piece of history and fit in nicely again.
It would also look very good in a nice mancave.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a unique historical phone.
