AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Japan. Isshu-gin and Tempo tsuho Edo period, 19th century

◆一朱銀 One Jushi Silver Coin in the Edo period
Size: about 9×15.5mm
Material: silver
The “isshu-gin” is a type of rectangular, strip-shaped silver coin that circulated in the late Edo period and was used as a counting coin. Its face value is 1/4 of a “ichibun-gin 一分銀” and 1/16 of a “koban no ichiryo 一両”.

◆Tempo tsuho (天保通宝)
size: 50×30mm
Material: an alloy containing lead and tin
Tempo tsuho is a coin circulated in Japan from the end of the Edo period to the first half of the Meiji period (1868-1912). It is also called Tempo sen (天保銭). The shape is oval, reminiscent of koban coins, with a square hole in the center, “Tenpo Tsuho” on the front, “Touhyaku 當百” on the back, and the Kaneza Goto family's seal on the bottom cast in the upper part. The material is an alloy made mainly of copper, which also contains lead and tin.

Since these were used by people in the past, traces of that use can be seen on them.
But relatively in good vintage condition.
The old of use is so beautiful and wonderful.

Carefully packaged and shipped from Japan to overseas.
We currently have other trading cards for sale, so check out the auctions.
