Description from the seller
Large and rare 'vide-poche' by Charles Schneider, Epinay-sur-Seine, France.
Charles Schneider, a master in French Art Deco glass. After founding the Schneider glass factory in 1917 with his brother Ernest, Charles launched two iconic lines: Le Verre Français and Schneider. These collections, produced between 1918 and 1933, showcased his innovative spirit and technical brilliance.
The Schneider line, of which this vide-poche is an example, focused on blown glass with vibrant colors and flowing shapes, emphasizing artistic spontaneity and craftsmanship. Techniques included hot working, overlapping, and internal coloring, resulting in more spontaneous, expressive pieces. Unlike the nature themes of Le Verre Français, the Schneider line leaned towards abstract and geometric forms, often with a more modernist aesthetic.
Large and heavy pocket watch in orange shades decorated with four hot-applied amethyst-colored applications. Signed with the needle: Schneider (see photos).
Dimensions: Height 13 cm; Diameter 33 cm.
The vide-poche is in good condition with normal signs of use and spots. No chips.
Photos are part of the description. Will be carefully packaged, shipped insured, and with a tracking code to your home. We do not ship to (island) countries with special customs regulations.
