Rare excerpt of a pre-revolutionary death certificate (1787) – certified true copy in 1816.
Strasbourg – Bas-Rhin – Latin – Official seals – Civil court & Town hall
Very beautiful and rare archival document, consisting of a certified copy of a death record registered in the old registers of the commune of Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin department.
Original act December 27, 1787
Ancien Régime, two years before the French Revolution.
Official certification Saverne, September 30, 1816, during the Restoration period under Louis XVIII.
This type of document was issued for civil or succession procedures (inheritance, marriage, recognition of rights).
Text written in ecclesiastical and administrative Latin, according to the usage of the late 18th century.
