Description from the seller

This is a natural Japanese finishing whetstone from Nakayama, sourced from the Masamotoyama area in Umegahata, Kyoto Prefecture. Nakayama stones are among the most highly regarded Kyoto whetstones, prized for their fine finishing ability and consistent sharpening performance.

This stone is classified as an Awasedo (finishing stone) with an estimated grit equivalence of #10,000–#12,000. It has a honeycomb pattern and a measured hardness of approximately 3.5/5, offering a good balance between feedback and polishing capability. The stone produces standard slurry and can be used without a Nagura, making it convenient for fine edge refinement.

With compact dimensions and a weight of approximately 150 g, this whetstone is suitable for finishing work on knives, tools, or razors, depending on steel compatibility. As with all natural whetstones, performance may vary depending on blade material and technique.

Please note that all evaluations are based on the seller’s perception. As a natural product, the stone may contain natural lines or inclusions, and buyers are advised to review the images carefully.
