Description from the seller
Graflex Pacemaker Crown Graphic 4x5 135mm Optar f/4.7 Large format camera
DESCRIPTION
The Crown Graphic Pacemaker is a large format press camera introduced by Graflex in 1947 and produced until 1973. It is a sturdy, lightweight, and well-built camera that was favored by press photographers for several decades due to its versatility and quality. It uses 4x5 inch sheet film or 120 roll film with the appropriate chassis.
The goal is an Optar 135mm f/4.7 manufactured by Wollensack for Graflex. It is a Tessar-type lens marketed by Wollensack under the name Raptar, characterized by high resolution and contrast.
STATE
The camera has been tested and is in good working condition.
The object is in good condition, with no scratches, mold, separation, or any other defects. There are some dust particles inside that do not affect performance. All shutter speeds function correctly. The ten-blade diaphragm forms an almost perfect circle.
The focus is smooth and precise. The bellows has no cracks and is light-tight.
The rangefinder works, and the double image is clear and sharp. However, it is misaligned and needs calibration.
The focus screen has an integrated Fresnel lens that guarantees uniform lighting in the corners.
All camera movements work correctly: lateral displacement, vertical displacement, and tilt.
The camera is in fair cosmetic condition. It shows numerous signs of use, especially on the corners, the viewfinder, and the back.
See the photographs, which are part of the description, for a complete detail of the camera's cosmetic condition.
