Greco-Roman Harpocrates figure from Egypt.

From the estate of a learned collector around 1900. According to a contemporary label, acquired in 1905 at the famous salesroom of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

The naked Harpokrates sits with a crossed left leg and holds a small vessel in his left hand. His right hand rests on his right knee. He wears a cap on his head. Between his legs lies an oversized phallus, symbolizing fertility, but unlike Priapos, due to the god's childhood (still) flaccid.
