Important and homogeneous lot of 93 vintage postcards with artistic, monumental, and religious themes, dedicated to the most famous masterpieces of Italian art.
The collection includes views and details of churches, cathedrals, monasteries, historic palaces, and decorative cycles, with particular attention to:
Vatican and Borgia Apartments
Monumental Rome and sacred art
Renaissance Florence
Gothic Siena
Perugia, Pavia, Ravenna, and other Italian historic centers.
Photographic reproductions of frescoes, sculptures, choir stalls, pulpits, facades, and interiors are present, attributable to the great masters of the Renaissance and Baroque (including Michelangelo, Pinturicchio, Luca della Robbia), as well as extraordinary examples of Gothic and Renaissance architecture.
The postcards are original vintage items, printed between the 1910s and 1940s of the 20th century, in black and white and sepia, with Italian and French publishers specialized in art and cultural heritage. Paper, printing, and layout are fully consistent with the period.
Overall good condition, with normal signs of age (light patina, sometimes rounded corners), without serious defects. A lot of great historical and decorative charm, ideal for:
