Neapolitan Nativity Scene, handcrafted 'Pig's Head' from late 19th-century Neapolitan craftsmanship (late 1800s). It is a full-round terracotta sculpture, painted in polychromy, skillfully rendered to convey plasticity and realism. The realistic, hanging head is supported at the back with iron to hold it on the display truss of the Butcher, Osteria del Presepe. As per the tradition of old Neapolitan workshops, it is placed on the front outside of the inn, butcher shop, in the market area with passersby, to best evoke the Naples of the 1700s with the Royal Bourbons. It measures 4.5 cm in height, 4 cm in width, and 5 cm in depth. Signs of age and small imperfections are present, all visible in the photos.
