AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A really attractive and rare fluorite from Panasqueira with an extremely dark body tone that just barely passes some light with backlighting. This piece features two cubic fluorite crystals with octahedral modifications intergrown with some quartz crystals. The fluorite has an odd surface, part of it being quite lustrous and transparent while the rest has been silicified, acquiring a white, almost botryoidal look. From a find made in the early 2000s. This piece comes from the classic Portuguese deposit of Panasqueira, a mine developed to exploit a series of tabular veins of Sn–W mineralization that have produced some of the finest sulfide and fluorapatite specimens in the world and definitely from Europe.
