An extremely rare purple apatite with a weird habit from a find that was made a few years back in the start of the second level of the mine. It’s more of an example of the weird habits that sometimes pop up here and there, but still a nice specimen. This piece comes from the classic Portuguese deposit of Panasqueira, a mine developed to exploit a series of tabular veins of Sn–W mineralization that have produced some of the finest sulfide and fluorapatite specimens in the world and definitely from Europe.
