Painted pottery jar from the Neolithic Majiayao culture (10000–1000 BC), China; Lot.00333, height 18 cm, diameter 6.7 cm, with a black cloud and thunder pattern, unglazed base, in good condition.

A beautiful painted pottery pot with cloud and thunder pattern
Description:
Flat mouth, straight neck, full shoulders, tapering towards the bottom, made of red pottery. The shoulders are decorated with a black cloud and thunder pattern. This vessel is likely a painted pottery pot from the Majiayao culture. The original shape should have had an everted lip and two lugs on the belly for threading a rope; the rim is now damaged, and the lugs are also broken.
This vessel dates back to the Neolithic Majiayao culture (10000-1000 BC) and was made in China. Its unglazed base confirms its material and production date.
Condition:
Good condition, with significant signs of use. Some parts are missing from the rim and foot. No signs of repair. It has been examined with strong UV light. (Please see photos if the text is not clear enough.)
