The Foudre 147 Cuvée is an assemblage liqueur created by the Carthusian Fathers, using yellow and green Chartreuse, aged in the Foudre 147 in Voiron, which provides a unique aromatic balance where the vegetal notes express themselves on a smooth base.
This special batch was first commercialized in 2019 to ensure the aging of the liqueur continues in the world’s longest liqueur cellar, located in Voiron.
For regulatory reasons, all production had to be transferred to Entre-Deux-Guiers, at the Aiguenoire site. The Foudre 147 liqueur is now sold exclusively at the Voiron shop, where it will continue to age.

An Enduring Symbol of Voiron
The creation of this permanent liqueur reflects a long-term commitment and symbolizes the strong connection between the liqueur and the city of Voiron for many years. Although distillation of the liqueur ceased in Voiron in June 2017, the Foudre 147 will be aged and sold exclusively within the former cellar of the Chartreuse Caves in Voiron. This liqueur, a blend of green and yellow Chartreuses with an alcohol content of at least 49°, will thus be one of the few liqueurs to continue aging within the world’s longest liqueur cellar, located at the Voiron caves site, which is currently being emptied.

The Craftsmanship of the Carthusian Fathers
The Foudre 147 Liqueur is best enjoyed as a digestif, served chilled between 12°C and 13°C, or over ice to fully appreciate its flavor and aromatic complexity. This new and significant tourist project for the Voiron site, conceived by Chartreuse Diffusion, will include the creation of museum spaces and a gastronomic center. The Foudre 147 Liqueur, produced and aged exclusively in the world’s longest liqueur cellar, is a unique creation that symbolizes the craftsmanship of the Carthusian Fathers and their attachment to Voiron.

The Foudre 147 Liqueur embodies the heritage and craftsmanship of the Carthusian Fathers, as well as the unbreakable bond between the city of Voiron and this spirit. Although production was transferred for regulatory reasons, the Foudre 147 will continue its aging exclusively in the world’s longest liqueur cellar in Voiron, where it can be savored in all its aromatic complexity.
