Exceptional and highly collectible Demerara rum from the historic Port Mourant wooden pot still, distilled at Demerara Distillers Ltd. in Guyana. Port Mourant rums are renowned for their depth, power, and unmistakable heavy profile, produced on one of the world’s last remaining wooden double pot stills.

This bottling was selected and bottled by Velier. Distilled in 1997 and aged for 15 years entirely in tropical conditions in Guyana, it represents a pure and uncompromising Demerara rum. Bottled in 2012 at full proof, it comes from a limited stock of only four barrels, making it a highly sought after release among collectors.

The mark UPM identifies the Port Mourant still. Tropical ageing resulted in an angel’s share exceeding 73 percent, concentrating the rum and giving it exceptional intensity, structure, and aromatic richness. This is a classic Velier Demerara profile with notes of dark molasses, liquorice, wood, spices, tar, and deep earthy tones.
