Two vintage Italian design stools in beech wood with vinyl upholstery dating from the 1950s, with brown seats and beige edging, each weighing 4 kg, seat height about 46 cm and seat 31.5 × 31.5 cm, in reasonable condition with heavy use and possible small parts missing.
Description from the seller
Two very stylish vintage stools. The stools date from the 1950s. The seat is brown, and the edge has a beige color. The legs are made of solid beech. Each stool weighs 4kg. The seat height is approximately 46cm, and the sitting surface measures about 31.5cm by 31.5cm.
The upholstery of the seating surfaces is made of vinyl. At the time, this was the latest and greatest. This material was introduced to Europe by Americans after World War II. The vinyl still looks very good after about 70 years of use. Only a tiny pinhole can be seen on one of the two stools (see photo). The black plastic trim has been re-glued on both stools at some point, but still sits nicely in the seam of the vinyl. The legs of both stools have been reinforced in the past with nails and dowels (see photos). They are now fixed to the seat, with one of the two stools having a slight wobble.
Both stools are still 100% stable. You can see that the stools have been used frequently. The legs show many signs of wear. You could sand and varnish those legs again, but it would be a shame to lose the patina. The stools are very atmospheric pieces of furniture that take you right back to the rock'n roll era of the 1950s! Very atmospheric and beautiful!!
The crutches are carefully packed and shipped insured.
