Description from the seller
Absolutely fantastic and rare chest for storing liqueur bottles, circa 1800.
Of European origin, very likely Italian.
Made of wood covered with painted leather, with polychrome and gilded decoration, featuring nailhead trim, and interior lined with 'capitonné' fabric. The chest is structurally very solid; however, it should be noted that when opening the lid, it does not stay open and must be supported.
Inside, there are four glass bottles decorated with gold floral designs. These are 19th-century bottles.
Two bottle caps with defects.
Dimensions
Chest: 22.5 cm height x 45 cm width x 20 cm depth.
Bottles: 19 cm height x 9 cm width x 6 cm depth.
