Very beautiful signed autograph letter by Ferdinand de Lesseps, a French entrepreneur mainly known for leading the construction of the Suez Canal, a major technical and economic achievement of the 19th century, and for his involvement in the Panama scandal.

Letter addressed to a friend about a party organized in Compiègne. Among the guests listed by Ferdinand de Lesseps is notably Prosper Mérimée, a famous writer and the first inspector of historical monuments.
