Netherlands Mint, Utrecht, minted only 300,000 pieces, plus 25,000 pieces as a mirror image.
Irregularity caused by die wear; the coin shows visible metal dents in the form of longitudinal lines.
During minting, the dies are subjected to high dynamic loads, which sometimes cause damage in the form of cracks or even chipping. Friction between the die surfaces and the coin blank causes gradual wear of the die. Contrary to popular belief, mint wrecks are highly sought after by collectors because their uniqueness makes them interesting and often very valuable due to their rarity and exceptionality.
Coin reverse
The letter U in the Euro inscription is missing, and the six vertical lines and six stars above the 'Euro' inscription are clearly visible.
The large numeral 2 is damaged, and all countries on the map of Europe are missing.
Two vertical, outer, thin, deep grooves run the entire length of the coin. All grooves were created by the movement of the die and the striking of the coin under enormous pressure. This is an interesting and unique, very rare, and unusual way of destroying this coin.
Obverse of the coin: The year 2015 is completely missing, the stars are distorted along the coin's circumference, and three vertical, oblique outer grooves run the entire length of the coin.
The coin's core is deformed from the outer ring.
A very rare coin sought after by collectors.
