Very rare 19th-century English library / captain's chair on original wheels – circa 1890
Beautiful original English library chair (Captain’s Chair) from the late 19th century, made around 1880–1910.
This characterful armchair is fully constructed from solid wood and features an original deeply buttoned leather backrest with a beautifully aged patina.
The chair rests on four original box castors with brass sleeves and hardwood running surfaces, making this type of chair highly recognizable and very desirable among collectors and enthusiasts of English club and library furniture.
The anatomically shaped seat and wide armrests ensure exceptional seating comfort.
