Rare seal ring with inscription, a cast bronze ring with an oval engraved bezel dating to Late Antiquity–Early Medieval period (ca. 6th–9th century AD), with a height of 32.5 mm, outer diameter 22.4 mm and inner diameter 18.5 mm, featuring a thick hoop and conical bezel support in good archaeological condition.
Description from the seller
Bronze seal ring with an oval bezel engraved with a linear inscription, executed in a stylised early Arabic or pseudo-Arabic script. The engraving is schematic and functional in nature, consistent with personal seals rather than official administrative signet rings.
The ring features a thick circular hoop and a raised conical bezel support, a form widely documented in Late Roman, Byzantine, and early Islamic bronze rings. The reverse and shoulders show casting traces and surface wear typical of prolonged historical use.
Such seal rings were commonly used as personal identification tools, ownership marks, or protective amulets, and often carried names, devotional phrases, or symbolic inscriptions. Due to age-related wear and patination, the inscription is no longer fully legible, but remains clearly intentional.
Based on typology, material, and engraving style, the ring can be confidently attributed to the Late Antiquity to Early Medieval transitional period (circa 6th–9th century AD).

Good archaeological condition. Stable bronze patina. Wear and surface corrosion consistent with age and use.
