Antique French marble clock garniture set dating to 1880–1920, in Belle Époque/Art Nouveau style, with a mechanical two‑train movement, comprising a mantel clock with sculpture and a matching pair of five‑light candelabra.
Description from the seller
Antique French Marble Clock Garniture w/ Sculpture & Pair of 5-Light Candelabra
Impressive large antique French clock garniture, consisting of a marble mantel clock with sculptural female figure and a matching pair of five-light candelabra.
The ensemble is mounted on richly veined green marble bases with ornate gilt and patinated metal mounts. The central clock is surmounted by a dynamic female figure in flowing drapery, holding floral elements, executed in a late Belle Époque / Art Nouveau–influenced style. The candelabra echo the same decorative vocabulary with scrolling arms and urn-shaped candle cups.
The clock is fitted with a French mechanical two-train movement (time & strike). The movement is stamped “Médaille d’Or – Paris” and numbered 789. An original winding key is included (see photos).
Metal components are described as cast metal; no material testing has been carried out and therefore no guarantee of solid bronze is given.
A striking, high-quality garniture suitable for a grand mantelpiece, period interior or serious antique collection.
