A fascinating vintage Timco EX 60 lamp-clock, an iconic example of pure Space Age design, produced in Hong Kong by Timco during the late 1960s–1970s.
This rare object combines futuristic industrial design with early electronic innovation, perfectly reflecting the technological optimism of the era.
The lamp-clock features an original gallium arsenide (GaAs) LED display, an advanced technology for its time, appreciated for its high brightness and excellent visibility.
The compact foldable structure and the two-tone plastic body, in cream / ivory / light yellow vintage white, showcase clean geometric lines typical of 1970s Space Age and early Mid-Century Modern electronics.
Lamp Function
The lamp offers two adjustable brightness levels.
When the lamp is switched on, closing the upper section automatically turns the light off, making it particularly suitable for bedside or desk use.
It is fitted with a 12V 21C bulb (included).
Clock, Alarm & Adjustment System
The integrated clock provides fast and slow adjustment modes, allowing precise time and alarm setting.
The rightmost lower button activates a secondary display that shows the last digit of the minutes together with the seconds count.
This function allows extremely precise time adjustment and also makes it possible to see how many seconds remain before the alarm is triggered, a refined technical solution typical of advanced electronic alarm clocks of the period.
The snooze function has been tested and operates correctly, switching off and reactivating as intended.
