Description from the seller
The Complete Serial. Vol. 11. 1950-1958 (without dust jacket)
Initially, Tintin was a serial. The albums came later and were not at all planned, as Hergé recounted. It is this original version of The Adventures of Tintin, but also of Quick and Flupke and Jo and Zette, that the present collection offers. For the first time, it will reveal the complete comics of Hergé as they were published in Le Petit Vingtième, Coeurs Vaillants, Le Soir, and the Tintin newspaper, along with all related graphic creations (covers, banners, illustrations...).
This captivating return to the roots allows for rediscovering Hergé's work in the freshness of the moment of creation. When published in album form, his concern for perfection indeed led Hergé to make significant modifications to his stories: he redrew certain passages, removed images, sometimes entire pages, and from the creation of the Tintin newspaper onward, systematically changed their colors.
At the end of the book, three illustrated postfaces featuring numerous unpublished documents enrich the perspective: Benoît Peeters discusses the life and work of Hergé, Jean-Marie Embs examines the sources and historical context of each adventure, and Philippe Mellot presents Hergé's activities and publications day by day.
Revisiting the comics published in the press between April 1925 and April 1976, the 12 volumes of the collection Le Feuilleton intégral are aimed at all enthusiasts of Hergé's work.
