Mochica culture ceramic bottle with a straight neck and lateral handle, 20 cm high, 17 cm wide and 15 cm deep, dating to 600–700 CE, decorated with a marine mythological scene and two crustaceans, in brown earthenware with a polychrome glaze.

Bottle with a side handle decorated with a mythological marine scene and two crustaceans
A figure is seated on a boat (caballito de totora) whose prow and stern depict a feline head. Under the boat there appear a human leg and a fish fin. The torso is facing front while the face is in profile; the man raises his arms and in each hand holds a rope whose ends are heads that are half feline and half serpent. A fishing net is suspended beneath his legs. Two crustaceans in relief frame the scene.

Condition: good with chips on the handle and the neck
