Christo – From Lilja Collection, a signed hardback exhibition catalog of 234 pages in large format (27 x 23 cm), published in 1989 by Galerie des Ponchettes in Nice, with English–French parallel text and original language, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
A richly illustrated, rare Christo catalog in a signed edition — an authentic document of 20th-century international conceptual and performance art.
Publisher: Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain, Galerie des Ponchettes, Nice, 4 July – 30 September 1989. Large-format exhibition catalog with French-English parallel text. With numerous full-page and double-page color and black-and-white illustrations, sketches, draft drawings, project studies, and documentary photographs of realized and unrealized works. Softcover. Signed copy by the artist. 27 x 23 cm.
Extensive documentation of central works and projects by Christos, including early cloaks, façades and landscape projects, urban interventions, as well as monumental, temporary installations. The volume brings together design drawings, maps, material studies, and photographic realizations, making visible both the conceptual and the logistical demands of this ephemeral art. Introductory texts, project descriptions, and work credits provide insight into the artist's working method, intention, and aesthetic radicalism.
Very well-preserved, clean specimen.
