Paul Letarouilly
Liège, D. Avanzo et Comp., 1849.
Volume in-4° (26 × 22 cm), 768 pages.
19th-century binding in half leather with green cloth boards, ribbed spine with gold title and fillets. Normal signs of use and age on the binding, overall solid. Interior in good condition, with engravings and architectural vignettes in the text.
This volume constitutes the descriptive text of the work, containing historical and technical analyses of Roman buildings, with specific references to the plates. The atlas with the large architectural plates is not included.
Fundamental work for the study of Roman architecture from the Renaissance to the modern age, Édifices de Rome moderne is considered one of the main sources of nineteenth-century architectural publishing.
