Bronze-plated wood dressing table from France in a Belle Époque–inspired style, dating to the first half of the 20th century, with dimensions 130 cm wide, 83 cm high and 41 cm deep.
Description from the seller
This late 20th-century dressing table, inspired by the Belle Époque period, combines a carved wooden structure with applications of silvered bronze, creating a piece of great ornamental richness and technical refinement. Its design responds to the eclectic and exuberant taste of the era, where functionality merged with decorative aesthetics.
The piece features a central oval mirror, framed by floral reliefs and symmetrical scrolls, topped with a sculptural finial that emphasizes its vertical presence. On either side of the mirror, four electric candelabra designed in the shape of candles provide ambient light and accentuate the theatrical character of the ensemble.
The top panel, possibly with an engraved or inlaid surface, rests on stylized legs decorated with botanical motifs in bronze. In the center, there is a functional drawer, discreetly integrated into the skirting, ideal for storing small grooming items or stationery.
The overall condition of the furniture is good, maintaining its structure, finishes, and electrical system, although it shows a lack of grip on the lower part of the footrest, a detail that requires minor intervention to restore its original stability.
This vanity is a representative piece of luxury furniture from the Belle Époque, designed for bourgeois or aristocratic interiors, where personal care was elevated to an aesthetic ritual. Its preservation and design make it a collectible object with strong decorative and historical value.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
