Description from the seller

What is the General Electric A1-501 tonearm
• The A1-501 is part of General Electric’s “Baton” series — a transcription-style tone arm designed for playback of large 16″ records (used in broadcasting / transcription).
• It was offered originally in the late 1950s / early 1960s for “broadcast and professional use as well as fine home music systems.”
• The A1-501 is the longer, 16″-record compatible version in the “Baton” line — as opposed to the shorter 12″-version A1-500.

Please note that we will pack her with our custom double box and bubble wrap system and we pack for the safety of the item not for economy.
Please see the detailed pictures as they form part of the description and sale.
I have owned this mono arm for many years as a display piece so i would recommend a rewire should you decide to use her.
We would also like to take this moment to wish you our clients and your families a very merry Christmas and a God filled new year in 2026
