The blonde beer has a high alcohol content (8.5%). Delirium tremens is sold in a characteristic matte-sprayed, whitish-gray, opaque bottle and features a pink elephant as its logo.
The beer was launched in 1989. In 2011, it accounted for 42% of the brewery's revenue.

In 2014, Delirium Tremens was sold in 85 countries, including for the first time in Ivory Coast, Congo, Kenya, and Cameroon.
In 1998, the beer was crowned the best beer in the world at the World Beer Championships in Chicago, Illinois (USA).
