Saint-Clément green faience lamp with marbled motif in Art Deco style, made in France, dating to ca. 1970–1980, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear and in working order, height 68 cm, width 44 cm, depth 28 cm, weight 1.8 kg.
Description from the seller
Superb green lamp with marbled motifs in the Art Deco style, made of faience from the renowned St Clément manufacture located in eastern France.
Founded around 1758, the Saint-Clément porcelain factory was awarded a gold medal at the Exhibition of French Industry Products in 1844.
She then participated in the 1855 Universal Exhibition, followed by the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris, where the manufacturer showcased all of its expertise, attracting notably Émile Gallé.
The manufacture was purchased in 1892 by Keller & Guérin porcelain factory from Lunéville and is still in operation today.
Its footing is crafted with perfect mastery of symmetry, curves, and reliefs.
His/her black lampshade is not original but gives it a note of modernity.
