Edward Hopper (1882–1967) was one of the most significant figures in 20th-century American art. Known for his quiet, introspective scenes of everyday life, Hopper developed a distinctive realist style characterized by strong geometry, carefully controlled lighting, and an atmosphere of solitude and psychological tension. Influenced by both American realism and European painting, his work focuses on moments of stillness that suggest deeper emotional narratives beneath the surface.

Hopper’s market is exceptionally strong and stable. His major oil paintings are considered blue-chip works, frequently held in museum collections, and when they appear at auction they command very high prices, often reaching tens of millions of dollars. Works from his early period, especially rare interiors and figurative scenes, are highly sought after by collectors due to their scarcity and historical importance.
