Tadashi Kawamata (born 1953, Mikasa, Japan) is an internationally renowned contemporary artist, known for his temporary, architectural installations in public spaces. His work often engages in dialogue with the environment and makes use of simple materials such as wood and reclaimed planks.
In 2000, Kawamata realized a project at the Middelheimmuseum (Antwerp) that included, among other things, a trench and a bridge, in which he connected historical references, landscape, and contemporary architectural interventions. The installation emphasized the temporary and impactful nature of human interventions in public space.
It is professionally packaged and shipped with track and trace.
