Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
McIntosh C30 stereo preamplifier in excellent cosmetic and fully functional condition, manufactured 1985–1987, two units included with the original box and an additional item, weight 11 kg, dimensions 41 × 14 × 35 cm.
Description from the seller
McIntosh • C30 • Excellent condition • High-end stereo preamplifier • Phono stage
Sublime and legendary McIntosh C30 stereo preamplifier.
Purchased in 2019, fully recap.
Very rare for sale in this magnificent condition.
Remarkable cosmetic condition, new glass facade replaced in 2020 ($400).
In perfect working order
Considered one of the best McIntosh semiconductor preamplifiers, but especially regarded as the best phono stage among all vintage McIntosh models from that period.
Remarkable musicality and dynamics, the C30 deserves to drive an amplification or bi-amplification that matches its exceptional qualities (Threshold, AudioResearch, Phase Linear, Krell, Cary, Carver…)
New illuminated glass facade, iconic of the brand, in excellent condition with no bubbles.
Equalizer with 5 levels.
Original wooden box with its slides.
Massive brass decoupling tips.
Made from 1985 to 1987, the golden age of HiFi.
The numbering of the C30 can be confusing because it is a newer device than the C31V, C32, and C33 models.
Its design and features are very similar to those of the C34V, without the amplifier control.
It is actually a quality; with its simpler and more direct circuits, the C30 is more transparent and quieter than the C34V.
Response frequency: 20Hz to 20kHz.
Total harmonic distortion: 0.007%
• Gain: 62dB (MM), 22dB (Line)
• Input sensitivity: 2mV (MM), 200mV (line)
• Signal-to-noise ratio: 90dB (MM), 100dB (line)
• Output: 10V (Pre-output Max)
• Semiconductors: 28 x transistors - 66 x FET - 15 x IC - 91 x diodes
• Dimensions: 406 x 138 x 353 mm
Weight: 11 kg with the wooden chest.
