Description from the seller
Antique walking stick – Oryx with medallion (ca. 1920–1930)
This exceptional antique walking stick from the interwar period (circa 1920–1930) is a distinctive and characterful object. The stick is made from oryx horn and immediately stands out due to its sculptural design and rich patina, developed over nearly a century of age.
At the top, the walking stick is finished with an embedded medallion, a detail that clearly indicates a ceremonial or status-symbolic function. This type of stick was more often worn as a sign of prestige, elegance, or authority than as a purely functional walking aid.
With a length of 84 cm, the stick has a slender, elegant proportion. At the top, a small age crack is visible; this is typical for the material and age and does not affect the stability or sturdiness of the object.
An exceptionally decorative and historic piece, ideal for the collector of antique walking sticks, art deco and interwar period enthusiasts, or as a stylish statement in a classic or eclectic interior. A walking stick with charm, history, and character.
