Dhokra pot with lid in patinated bronze from India, West Bengal, 17 cm high by 12 cm in diameter (12 cm), weighing 839 g, dating to the second half of the 20th century and described as in very good condition with minor signs of use.

Beautifully crafted, intricately detailed bronze peacock pot with a lid, also called the Dhokra pot (storage container). These pots are used in India to store Tiha powder or other cosmetics, or coins, jewelry and betel nuts.
The probable origin of this bronze pot is West Bengal or Odisha.
Condition: In very good condition, with minor signs of use.
Period: the second half of the 20th century.
The photos constitute a large part of the description; everything has been photographed in as much detail as possible to give the best possible impression of this special item.
