Description from the seller

At the top
Christ (probably Christ Pantocrator or Christ Emmanuel), depicted among clouds, with arms open in a gesture of blessing and welcome. It is common in icons of intercession and merciful judgment.

It is clearly recognized by:

The ascetic and slim appearance.

Poor clothing (hair tunic or austere cloak)

The hand gesture towards the chest, typical of intercession and repentance.

Bare feet

It is a very classic iconography of the Precursor.

Figure on the right

A saintly bishop, most likely Saint Nicholas of Myra (the most common).

Key elements

Episcopal mitre with crosses.

Gospel book in hand

Liturgical vestments

Gray beard and stern face

Although Saint Basil the Great can also be depicted this way, Saint Nicholas is much more common in this type of icons alongside Saint John the Baptist.

An authenticity certificate endorsed by the Ministry of Culture of Estonia is provided.
