Eugène Faller fieldcamera, a rare French tailboard camera from circa 1900–1910, cosmetically good to very good and tested and functional, with a 13 x 18 cm plate format and a wood body with red leather bellows.
Description from the seller
Very rare French field camera Eugène Faller (Paris)
Eugène Faller was a manufacturer of cameras for a certain period in the late 19th century and probably also in the early 20th century.
As a potential second manufacturer or partner, the company H. Aubach is listed on the plaque.
Camera type: Tailboard - Plate camera
Objective: Brass lens f = 8; it may be a Derogy lens. The company Derogy was a lens and camera manufacturer in Paris during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Apertures: 8, 11, 16, 22, 32, 44
Format size: 13 x 18cm
Case: noble wood; it is a very high-quality carpentry work (see photos); additional fittings on one side of the case indicate that the camera could also be used in landscape orientation. These fittings fit into the 'Laufboden'.
Front is adjustable sideways.
Double extension, the running surface has a bubble level, but it is defective.
Balgen: red leather
Dimensions: height 25cm / width 18cm / depth 8cm (without lens) / extended 30cm (without double extension)
Accessories: 3 high-quality double plate carriers (see photos) with a wood roller blind. The cassettes snap into the housing when inserted!
1 defective shutter DMR "Normal" (Demaria-Lapierre company) with long wire trigger, lens cover.
state
For a camera that is more than 100 years old, the cosmetic condition can be described as good - very good. The lens is clear and free of scratches; the wooden casing and fittings are in good condition, as is the bellows. The matte screen is intact.
The photos are an integral part of the camera description and condition.
