Description

An exceptional pair of sterling silver table lamps by Pedro Durán, crafted in Madrid circa 1950 and belonging to the maker’s most prestigious “Plata Firmada” signed luxury line. This line was reserved for Durán’s highest-quality production and issued strictly in limited series of fewer than 3,000 pairs, making surviving examples increasingly rare.

Each lamp is executed in solid sterling silver (.925) and displays a refined classical silhouette, articulated through fluted and mitred moulding that runs harmoniously along the stem. The design is balanced, architectural, and timeless, reflecting the restrained elegance of mid-century Spanish luxury silver.

The circular bases incorporate integrated counterweights, discreetly concealed within the structure. For this reason, the stated weights (909 g and 896 g) correspond to the total weight of each lamp, as the internal silver and stabilising elements are not removable. This construction ensures excellent stability, particularly suitable for bedside tables, consoles, or refined interior settings.
