Description:
Elegant Napoleon III style fireplace garniture (late 19th century), consisting of a central clock and a pair of five-light candelabra.
The clock, made of Belgian black marble, is topped by a refined patinated bronze sculpture depicting the Greek poet Sappho, signed at the base by the renowned sculptor J. Pradier (James Pradier, 1790–1852).
A distinguished feature is the dial with Roman numerals and a green marble center. The candelabra, also in bronze and marble, display naturalistic decorations.
The piece is authentic to its era, retains its original patina, and is in good overall condition. A piece with strong decorative and collectible appeal.
