Description
Rare antique precision watchmaker's tour, German-made and attributed to the house of Boley & Leinen, Esslingen am Neckar, a renowned manufacturer of high-precision watchmaking and mechanical tools.
This bench plane is marked D.R.G.M. LEINEN – BOLEY & LEINEN – ESSLINGEN, indicating a registered model in Germany and a production date between the early 20th century and the 1920s.
Robust and meticulous construction, typical of German excellence of this period, with a tubular steel bench, screw clamp feet for fixing to the workbench, an adjustable tailstock, a central tool holder carriage, and a stepped pulley for belt drive.
The set displays an even, aged patina consistent with its age, with no restoration or modern modifications. The components are complete in their main configuration. The mechanism appears free visually; functionality has not been tested.
